As of August 1, 2012 Meridzo Ministries has taken over the Center. The Chauncy's remain on property until September 3, 2012.
Below is Lonnie Riley's article of what is to come:
Maytown Center at Langley has had an historical track record of education and ministry to the Floyd County area for generations. We consider it a great honor to receive an opportunity to continue such a rich tradition in such a beautiful part of Southeast KY.
Our first goal will be to get to know the residents of Maytown or Langley (we aren’t sure which the local residents prefer). The ways in which we can assist the community will be foremost in our thinking. We are not trying to reinvent the wheel at the Center, just continuing a ministry that has been quite successful over these years. At the same time we will be looking for ways our Lord may want to expand the ministry and outreach to all the citizens of the area.
Secondly, we plan to begin an immediate refurbishing of the structures on the campus and upgrade the conditions of the beautiful facility. Since this will be done primarily by volunteers and donations, this will be a long term process and will not occur overnight. We can, however, use this beginning point to launch us into a greater involvement in the Floyd County area.
Thirdly, we do not plan to discontinue any programs already existing at the Center, but will try to increase our marketing strategy to make sure each program will have a maximum impact. We are thrilled to see the community’s use of the Center and look forward to expanding that relationship.
We are currently interviewing prospective staff to come and assist in the direction we have stated and are confident that this will occur soon. With this in mind, words could not express our gratitude for Dan and Beth and their faithful service these many years. They have developed relationships and friends that will last a lifetime. Their labor of love will continue to see beneficial returns for all eternity. As the Lord leads them to other venues of service they will always remain key players in the development and continued ministry of Maytown Center by the legacy they leave with us.
When you get an opportunity call the office to set a time to come visit and meet the wonderful people the Lord will bring here and see what He is doing on campus. We look forward to visiting with the community and hearing the stories of how Maytown Center has impacted lives.
